International Congress and Conferences on Computational Design and Engineering
The Congress will be held for 4 days focusing on Computational Design & Engineering. The Congress expects participates from the Asia, Europe, North America and other regions. The congress themes spans from traditional computational design in all industrial areas to the new 4th industry issues such as big data and deep learning.
This congress will be a good opportunity for international experts in various fields to gather to discuss major issues and find solutions.
Excellent papers will be considered to be published as a special issue of the Journal of Computational Design and Engineering (Indexed in e-SCI and SCOPUS, and in the final reviewing process for SCI indexing) journal after submission of full paper and review process.
FROM Inhan Kim
i3CDE Congress Chair
Welcome to the 1st International Congress and conferences on Computational Design and Engineering., This year, i3CDE is being held in Penang, Malaysia where UNESCO historical site is located. We are very excited on this wonderful business and leisure mixed location. We hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy the island and the views as well as the i3CDE congress itself.
Jointly sponsored by MyCEB, PCEB and IBIM i3CDE is the premier forum to explore emerging technology challenges in computational design and automation, present leading-edge R&D solutions, and identify future roadmaps for design automation research areas. The members of the executive committee, the advisory committee, and numerous volunteers have spent more than a year to preparing an exciting program for you!
i3CDE is first proposed by SCDE, Society for Computational Design & Engineering, based in Korea.
The society centered on South Korea, Japan, and China, has held international conferences called ACDDE (Asian Conference on Design and Digital Engineering) for many years. The Society also have held an international conference called ISCDE (International Symposium on Computational Design & Engineering), to be in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. SCDE would like to expand and integrate the current existing ISCDE and ACDDE into i3CDE annually. Now this congress holds 3 conferences at the same time, the conference issues include 1) Computational Design Engineering 2) Smart Design, BIM and Construction IT 3) Smart Manufacturing.
As the 4th Industrial Revolution is currently growing worldwide, products and production systems are developing around hyper-connectivity and superintelligence. I3CDE will discuss variety of cutting-edge skills, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, IoT, 3D Printing, Intelligent Sensor, and Cyber-Physical System. Because these skills are not available only from one field of study and need people with a diverse background, we believe that it is the best fit for executing and leading the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Approximately 200 papers spread over 26 sessions on diverse topics related to Computational Design and Engineering that were selected during our technical program committee. We are delighted to host several distinguished guests and keynote speakers: the Monday morning YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang State Government, and keynote on Origins and Development of Computational Design will be given by Professor Tom Maver from Mackintosh School of Architecture, UK, Connecting the Dots in Smart PLM: Preparing Big Industrial Data for Cognitive Analytics & Manufacturing will be given by Professor Dimitris Kiritsis from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland and Digital twin for smart manufacturing reference model will be given by Professor Soonhung Han from KAIST, Korea.
On Tuesday, three conferences on ACDDE&ICNMI, ICDCB and ICSM will be held as parallel conferences. Il Yong Kim from Queen’s University, Canada will present the DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) in Aerospace and Automotive Industries. Finally Pavel STASA from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czech will present Czech Industry (Past, Present, Future). We hope you will find these keynotes interesting and informative. At Tuesday gala dinner, we have award ceremony for the selected papers. In addition, selected papers will be published on the Journal special issues, Int’l Journal of CDE which has high impact on the community.
On Wednesday, we have industry focusing symposium. Various companies and research organization will present their emerging technologies on a variety of both new and established topics. These symposia have exciting programs themselves, so we hope that many of you will take advantage of them and stay extra days in Penang.
Once again i3CDE promises to be a good opportunity for international experts in various fields to gather together to discuss major issues and find solutions to serve as a communication venue for experts in the future. Through the successful holding of this congress, it will continue to serve as a communication venue for experts in the future. We do hope you will be able to join us in making this event a great and memorable one. Finally, we are grateful to our i3CDE 2019 sponsors and numerous supporters for making this year’s conference another successful event. Enjoy i3CDE and Penang!
